If you have a problem with an item of food you have purchased in Jamaica, you can tell us and we will look into it.
Food Recall


If it´s possible, place the food item in an unused polythene food bag and keep it safe (such as a freezer or fridge, coldpack). We can then arrange for one of the Food Safety and Quality Jamaica Team to collect the item from you for investigations.

If you think that you have food poisoning it is important that you contact your doctor for medical advice.

  • If you know of a number of people who become ill following eating the same food, contact your local health officer as soon as possible with the details of where you ate or bought the food that caused the problem.

More than two-thirds of respondents in a recent survey* believe that most recalled food has already been eaten by the time a recall is announced.  >>
